United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic)'s 47th Holy Convocation
Hey Everyone!!! The United Church of Jesus Christ is having their 47th Annual Convocation from June 26th to June 29th in Charlotte, North Carolina. The theme for this year's Convocation is "Spiritual Navigation in a World of Change ... Recalculating Our Position." I find that topic very profound and every organization and church can relate. This year seems to have a certain air of excitement and buzz because of two reasons. Firstly, the change of scenery at this year’s Convocation is very exciting. For years, the organization has traveled to Woodbridge, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland, so going to the city of Charlotte is causing a lot of people to be enthused. The second reason is the transition of auxiliary leaders being fully announced. There are many who do not know who has been chosen, and because of this, many people are intrigued to know who the new chosen leaders are. This year’s lineup of speakers is very interesting and exciting because they cross organizational boundaries and lines. The speakers lined up are Bishop Iona Locke, Bishop Claude Alexander, Pastor John Hannah, and Bishop Monroe Saunders Jr. This lineup of speakers is sure to engage this word based organization, which truly loves to hear the voices of prolific and anointed speakers. As a son of this organization, this crossing of organizational lines is nothing new to me, and is something I always embrace because of my desire for unity. The Women of Royalty, B.A.D. Men and Youth are splitting up in the morning and afternoon and then reuniting in the evening. This year’s attendance is expected to be one for the record books. So, United Church of Jesus Christ, enjoy your time in worship and praise and allow God to take center stage. God Bless!!!
